CF are a thoroughly professional organisation to work with. Bill Feeney, Director.
Pursuing Independent Paths (PIP) is a registered charity based in West London that works with young adults with learning disabilities (including Autism) and severe learning difficulties. PIP’s service users come from throughout the City of Westminster and neighbouring boroughs in order to attend accredited educational, training and life skills sessions at two centres in Westminster.
Person-centred student timetables incorporate a vast range of educational and recreational activities, including: Literacy and numeracy; Health and wellbeing; Drama and arts; Horticulture; Travel training; Managing money and much more. Students also get the chance to go on residentials, engage with their local community and attend work experience placements. PIP provides a safe, welcoming and social environment for young disabled adults to develop independence, life skills and confidence.
Charity Fundraising Ltd started working with PIP in late 2011, initially to review PIP’s current funding position, conduct funder prospect research and investigate the scope for new and innovative project designs. In early 2012, our team worked on a tender for Arts and Disability services in Westminster; a partnership bid that was successful in two consecutive years. The City of Westminster Commissioner responded: “Your tender for Arts and Disability services scored 95% – the highest of all that we received”.
Our team have since developed a number of targeted bids to support core costs at PIP’s W9 Centre in Maida Vale as well as a range of specific projects. To date, the total raised for PIP through a range of grants and small contracts is £779,664 including 3-year funding of £245,000 secured through the BIG Lottery Fund for Health and wellbeing and £97,300 from City Bridge Trust for a performing arts project. We have also achieved core funding from a range of sources including the John Lyons Charity and corporates such as British Land. Restricted grants have supported PIP’s Travel training project, Literacy and Numeracy sessions, the purchase of IT equipment and recreational activities. We continue to work with PIP to support their fundraising and development.
“CF are a thoroughly professional organisation to work with. They took the time to get to know us in great detail and over time have continued to impress, meet targets and help us deliver our mission.” Bill Feeney, Director.
