Here’s a summary of some upcoming grant funding deadlines:

31st Dec 09
Civil Society Responsive Grants
Grants to support culture, communities and livelihoods, governance and democracy and human development. All projects must involve international or intercultural exchange between people and organisations based in Commonwealth countries.

MIND – Ecominds (Medium Bids)
Grants to support those with mental health issues to become involved in environmental projects. Medium grants between £20,000 and £60,000.

Comic Relief: UK grants
Grants available for UK projects under the following themes: Mental health, domestic and sexual abuse, refuge and asylum seeking women, sport for change, young people aged 11 to 25, local communities and older people.

Youth Sector Development Fund (Expression of Interest)
Charities are invited to bid for a share of up to £10 Million for projects to raise the aspirations of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Heathrow and Community Environment – Large Grants Awards
Funding up to £50,000 available for projects to support the community and improve the local environment. Awards will be made to local community projects based within one of the 8 boroughs around Heathrow. Projects must align with one of five themes: projects focusing on five themes: ‘reduce, re-use, recycle’; ‘climate change and energy’; ‘protecting and enhancing our environment’; ‘bringing communities together’ and ‘developing skills’.

English Heritage – Historic Buildings, Monuments and Landscapes
Grants awarded for the urgent repair and conservation of historic buildings, monuments and landscapes to prevent loss or damage.

Trust for London
Support projects in the fields of: Peace and Security, Environmental Sustainability and Human Rights. Grants usually between £5,000 to £15,000 per year for up to three years.

Funding for enhancing communities and enriching nature. Supporting the recovery of species and habitats identified as a priority by both national and regional biodiversity action plans Small grants up to £25,000. Larger grants up to £120,000.

Funding for traditional conservation training and also skills needed to engage people with heritage.

BIG – Reaching Communities
Grant funding up to £500,000 for projects that can support achievement of the following changes in communities:
  • people having better chances in life, including being able to get better access to training and development to improve their life skills
  • strong communities, with more active citizens, working together to tackle their problems
  • improved rural and urban environments, which communities are better able to access and enjoy
  • healthier and more active people and communities.
