Pro Corda Trust, the National School for Young Chamber Music Players seeks voluntary candidate

Pro Corda Trust, the National School for Young Chamber Music Players, is seeking a Trustee/Director & Treasurer. Based at the beautiful Leiston Abbey, an English Heritage site dating from 1363, Pro Corda promotes learning and performance of music in string quartets, a discipline which requires personal and musical skills complementary to those of solo or orchestral playing. Pro Corda’s turnover last year was £500k but is set to grow as we launch a number of exciting new ventures, including Outreach services to children with Special Educational Needs and seek to restore facilities at Leiston Abbey and bring the grounds and buildings in to greater use.

The post is offered on a voluntary basis, the ideal candidate would be a Chartered Accountant with interests in classical music, particularly Chamber Music, and /or helping children with special needs. The successful candidate will be expected to attend 4 /5 Board meetings a year, which are held in London. Overseeing the work of a salaried bookkeeper will be part of the responsibilities of the post.
