Paul Hamlyn Foundation
Revised grant funding programmes
The Paul Hamlyn Foundation is one of the larger independent grant making foundations in the UK. They make grants to organisations which aim to maximise opportunities for individuals to experience a full quality of life, both now and in the future. In particular, they are concerned with children and young people, and others who are disadvantaged. They prefer to support work which others may find hard to fund, perhaps because it breaks new ground, is too risky or is unpopular.
The Foundation has recently issued new guidelines for the Education and Learning Programme, which has three specific themes: supplementary education, tackling school exclusion and truancy, and developing speaking and listening skills for 11-19 year olds.
Through their Open Grants Scheme they support innovative ways of increasing people's learning. They fund the development, implementation and dissemination of new ideas to increase people’s education and learning and, to achieve these aims, their funding will benefit organisations, groups and individuals.
Full details of the themes and funding priorities within the Education and Learning Programme - as well as those for the Arts and Social Justice – are available on the Paul Hamlyn Foundation website
