Josh has undertaken numerous youth projects with young offenders and homeless kids, the most notable being a series of workshops supported by David Bailey and Olympus.
Josh also came up with an idea to publish a national magazine for British prisons, which he produced and distributed 2 issues of, to prisons across the country.
Graham Parker has many years experience of Youth projects, and working with offenders, and will be meeting Josh later this week to discuss a number of potential projects.
Josh is currently available to undertake work for public sector organisations and charities.
Here is a summary biography for Josh:
Josh Cole is a freelance photographer with almost 10 years of experience. As a troubled teenager Josh became addicted to cocaine after becoming a dealer. At the age of 23, having dealt with serious legal and mental health problems he decided to study at university to escape from a life of crime and become a photographer. Despite terrible grades this all went pretty well. After 3 years of graduating Josh had already built a reputation as the UK’s leading photographer for the “urban” music and fashion scene and had already notched up a number of commissions for national publications and a major advertising campaign for Levis. He has since shot a number of ad campaigns for clients such as Reebok, Nintendo and Saatchi & Saatchi. Josh has also appeared as a judge on ‘Faking It’ and was the first western photographer to shoot an ad campaign in Lithuania.
Along side this commercial career Josh has always done a considerable amount to help young people who come from a similar background. He has designed and run numerous youth projects with young offenders and homeless kids- the most notable of these was a series of workshops supported by David Bailey and Olympus. He also came up with an idea to publish a national magazine for British prisons and then produced and distributed 2 issues of the magazine across the country.
Now 3 years on Josh is looking to resurrect the magazine as a national magazine for young offenders produced entirely by young people in the criminal justice system. He is also about to direct a film which addresses the serious problem of drug induced psychosis in young people. More details are available on both projects by contacting Graham or Josh.
