Autumn 2010 Newsletter
Welcome
Welcome to the Autumn 2010 edition of our newsletter. Yes, it’s that time of year again where every weather reporter in the land starts incanting their favourite adjective, ‘autumnal’ and supermarkets start pushing 1001 varieties of Christmas Pudding on unsuspecting customers who’ve only just got back from their summer holiday!
The changing season has brought some changes for Charity Fundraising staff as well. We were very sad to see Catherine Murphy leave us recently for pastures new at the major housing charity Shelter in London. However we are delighted to have Senior Consultant, Sarah Owen back following a temporary six month position with the development Charity Wild Living in Kenya. We are also delighted to have Fundraising Officer, Kathryn McDonald extending her stay with us to a permanent position.
This issue of our newsletter includes some [hopefully] interesting articles on: Demonstrating outcomes; new equal opportunities legislation; more spending cuts; updates to our popular fundraising training workshops, and of course some upcoming grant funding deadlines.
Best wishes for a fruitful fundraising harvest this Autumn from all at Charity Fundraising Ltd.
Outputs and Outcomes
New study shows that charities are good at saying what they do but struggle to communicate the difference they make to peoples lives
A recent study by New Philanthropy Capital (NPC) called “Talking About Results” has revealed that charities are far more able at explaining what they do (Outputs) than they are at explaining how these activities impact on their beneficiaries and change lives for the better (Outcomes).
