Charity Fundraising - Christmas Newsletter 2006
December 2006 Newsletter
Season’s Greetings and welcome to the first of an occasional newsletter from Charity Fundraising Ltd. Whether it’s been a while since we were in touch or you have raised an enquiry recently, we hope you will find something of interest.
A year of achievement
It’s been a great year for our clients who between them have received over £2 Million from our bid writing and campaign management services alone. Charity Fundraising has Incorporated, moved to a new dedicated head office and expanded our core staff team.
Our new-look website
We recently re-launched our website which now includes a bookshop with sector relevant titles selected by us. We are always developing resources to benefit anyone in the voluntary sector so if you have any ideas for additional content please let us know. If you find our website a useful resource, please do feel free to link to our website from your own. (Instructions available from our main menu if you need them.)
NCVO Approved Fundraising Consultants
As we prepared this newsletter, we heard that we have been approved as Fundraising Consultants by NCVO, the national policy and lobbying body for the Third Sector and our details will appear in their 2007 directory.
Staff News
We are delighted that Tricia Nightingale has joined us as a Fundraising Officer. Our core team now comprises Graham Parker, Paul Parker, Peter See, Graham Sheath, Craig Bird, Rose Longhurst and Tricia Nightingale.
New Services
Drawing on the skills and experience of our expanded team, we can now offer fundraising support to social and community enterprises, as well as Registered Charities, looking at the wide range of sources of finance available to the Third Sector. Confused by all the choice? Not sure what is appropriate to you? Let us advise and assist you to develop your funding strategy.
Not sure that your fundraising or business strategies are working as well as they might? Ask about our strategy reviews and business health checks.
Training
Another service launched this year is our package of training solutions. Two low cost courses are currently available: ‘Finding Funding’ and ‘Grants and Beyond’ respectively look at seeking funding from Trusts and Foundations and the wider range of sources available to the sector. Courses in January to March 2007 are great value at £85 per head (fully inclusive of VAT, detailed course notes and catering).
We also offer customised in-house training courses that combine tutorial and workshop styles to develop skills and ensure that participants build on the knowledge they have gained.
Looking ahead
We are seeing ever increasing competition for limited charitable funds at a time when Government is seeking to grow the Third Sector. The Charities Act 2006 and the Office of the Third Sector’s ‘Partnership in Public Services’ and ‘Social Enterprise Action Plan’ will all have their effect. In order to thrive, Third Sector organisations will need to continue to diversify income sources, develop improved full cost recovery strategies and increase professionalism in all aspects of management and fundraising. Needless to say, Charity Fundraising can offer help in all these areas. If you would like to discuss how we can help your organisation in 2007, please feel free to email me at _graham@charity-fundraising.org.uk_ or call us on 01394 610581 for an informal chat.
We wish you all a peaceful Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.
Best wishes,
Graham Parker and the Charity Fundraising team
