£372,004 Big Lottery: Reaching Communities grant achieved for autism.west midlands

A two stage ‘Reaching Communities’ programme application drafted by Charity Fundraising has achieved the full sum requested; £372,004

Work undertaken by Assistant Director & Fundraising Consultant, Paul Parker, has resulted today in continuation funding announced today in a Big Lottery Fund News Release;

‘Reaching out to families across the region, Autism West Midlands will use a £372,004 award to continue a project to provide a range of outreach support services to people experiencing Autism, their parents and carers. The project will offer information, training, and a regular discussion group for parents and professionals based at the Sandwell Autism Resource Centre.

Carolyn Bailey, Chief Executive said: “Autism West Midlands are so pleased to receive the grant for our work in Sandwell. It will enable people with autism and their families to continue to receive a specialist service that is so important to them. We know that they depend on us to cope with what are sometimes very difficult circumstances. We can now continue to support them and also other organisations who access our Resource Centre for information and advice about autism.”

Big Lottery Fund Head of West Midlands Region, John Taylor, said: “Each of these projects demonstrate the essence of what Reaching Communities is all about. These awards are reaching out to vulnerable groups to provide vital services that will improve the quality of life of those most in need. The Big Lottery Fund is giving communities across the West Midlands the resources to really improve the lives of local people in need.”

‘The £100 million Reaching Communities programme is rolling out grants of up to £500,000 to projects that offer people better chances in life, build strong communities, develop improved rural and urban environments and create healthier and more active people and communities.’

Charity Fundraising Ltd has developed over a period of more than three years special understanding and experience in relation to Autism and is delighted that it’s work in partnership with Autistic Societies continues to provide substantial funding in support of high quality service delivery.
